Free offers
Initial assessment-pathway screening
Initial screening, pathway suitability review and, where another service is more appropriate, explanation of that route and a concise referral summary with your consent are free. Screening is not a diagnosis or formal report and creates no obligation to purchase a service.
Free Case Direction Check for Support Coordinators
This check includes a brief statement of the decision problem, one or two priority evidence gaps, the likely information source or professional, and the next practical step. We aim to reply within two business days, but response time is not guaranteed.
It does not include full-file review, a formal audit, assessment, report writing, preparing an NDIS submission, crisis response or ongoing coordination. De-identified information only is accepted, and there is no obligation to purchase a service.
Fixed-price diagnostic assessments
The total fee for each of the following is $1,500:
- Autism diagnostic assessment; ADOS-2 only where clinically indicated
- Intellectual disability diagnostic assessment
The fee includes information review, interview and assessment activities, scoring and analysis, the final report, audience-specific written summaries, and reasonable follow-up. There is no other mandatory charge.
Payment plan
- After accepting the assessment recommendation: $250 to commence.
- Before the assessment is booked: $250.
- Then ten monthly payments of $100.
There is no interest, hidden fee or additional mandatory charge. The schedule and dates are recorded in the service agreement.
Other work
Complex case consultation, practitioner and practice development, shorter psychological work and evidence work are priced to scope. The output, timing and fee are stated in writing before work begins. No additional work proceeds without written agreement.
Diagnostic assessment cancellation
- More than 48 hours before the appointment: no cancellation charge and unused amounts are refunded.
- Within 48 hours of the appointment: up to $250 may be retained to reflect reserved time and reasonable, actual loss.
- After assessment activity has occurred: $500 is retained for work completed and the unused balance is refunded.
Illness, emergencies and exceptional circumstances are considered fairly and case by case. If Embark cancels an appointment, a suitable alternative or proportionate refund is offered.
No outcome guarantee
Fees do not purchase a diagnosis or guaranteed outcome. A diagnosis, NDIS funding, school acceptance, a doctor’s decision or any other third-party outcome is not guaranteed.
Referrers
A doctor, practice or coordinator who introduces a person receives no financial benefit from the referral or from the person proceeding. The decision to proceed belongs to the person or their lawful representative.
Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
